Baker vs. Carr

1. What issue was dressed in the case? In Tennesse, urban areas has increased in population and the State hasn't changed the number of legislators for each county that has increased.
2. A law was passed to make each state update redistricting every 10 years, and Tennesse has failed to do so since 1901.
3. The case presented a political question which the court wouldn't hear the case.
4. The federal court refused to hear a case over State districting, which sent the case off to the supreme court.
5. In the end, it was a land slide that the Supreme court allows federal courts the power to determine State voting rights.
6. The federal court is now hearing more cases similiar to Baker vs Carr.
7. I do agree with the court decision, the federal court should deal with kind of hearings.

Assignment 11/6/14

A big conversation that has been discussed for years is abortion. Should abortion be allowed or shouldn't it? Personally, I could see being for it then against it. I don't you should be able to kill your child simply because  you don't want to take care of it, but then again its not my decision to make. I believe every person should make their decision as to abortion. I could be against abortion because it is awfully wrong to kill a child. If anything, the mother should have the child and give it up for adoption. I would address the people that I personally don't believe in it, but I believe mothers should have an option.
In the United States, natural disasters happen all of the time. I believe the government should give aid to the states when a natural disaster occurs. In my opinion, every should come together and help support that state that the natural disaster happened in. They should also have trainings for people in those states to help the people in need as soon as the natural disaster has hit. Even though it may cost a lot to help those states in need, the government should spend their money on aid over other nonsense stuff.
For me, I am a strong believe in being green. Who wouldn't want fresh air to breathe in? Each year, our atmosphere is being destroyed by gases caused by burning coal and etc. Our government should come together to help find a solution to clean air. Everyone says Obama is a pretty bad president, but his strides with trying to save our environment is amazing. Small steps can lead to larger steps in helping for clean air. I would promote for recycling and try to get more citizens to recycle. I would try to get the chance to give some money back to the ones who recycle.
Cost of College is another issue that not just West Virginia faces, but every state faces. Many high school seniors are faced with the debt of College in the near future. Some colleges tuition is just  outrageous. In my opinion, the government should figure options to help the students with their debts. One option would be to have more scholarships available to a ride range of students. In some cases, some high school students have to get loans due to their parents not willing to help them, there should be something to help those ones in need. Everyone should be able to get the chance to a higher education if they desire it.
Lately, there has been some news on television about veterans not getting their needs. In my opinion, veterans should be able to get health benefits for serving their country. Not many people can say, that they went to war and fought for us during the War Worlds. I believe the government should give back to the veterans. Many veterans develop mental health issues during combat. My opinion the government should fund groups that help veterans work their issues out when they get back to the United States.
For me, I wouldn't consider myself a democrat or a republican. If I had to be one, I would probably be a democrat. I don't always agree with how most democrats think. I do believe that people that make a much higher income, should get tax more. It is not fair for a low income person to be paying the same taxes, as someone who makes millions. Must democrats also support the death penalty. Many democrats believe in having health care for everyone, but I don't believe Obamacare was the right option. It is not fair to make citizens pay a fine due to not having insurance. One thing most democrats want is to have clean air. I am a strong believe in finding energy that's clean for the environment.

I believe that is a good thing that we have someone in the lawmaking that would think for the young minds for West Virginia. In other thoughts, it seems she got elected through the help of her father. I believe that this could be a good or bad thing for West Virginia. In a good sense, she could be the voice of reason for younger adults. In other ways, she is young she may not know as much as someone who is more qualified and older.

Who I choose?

I choose the woman because of many reasons. First of all, she believes that people should get refunded if they recycle. Other issues he helped is with taxes. She explains the reasons for taxes as well. At the end, his responses were better than the girl's.

For the Barbour County Election, two republicans and one democrat won the election. They were all men.For the West Virginia senator, Capito won over Natalie Tennant. In all of the votes, I don't believe a single incumbent won the election. Elections is a choice for people to express their feelings I believe its important to vote because it a privilege Americans have.

2. I honestly don't believe in the death penalty. People make mistakes and the captain made a mistake. I do believe he should get punished for not doing the right thing.
3. In a way, I believe the death penalty is correct. An example, a person that is a murderer should get the death penalty. In other ways, I believe its kind of an easy way out for someone. People make mistakes all of the time, they should get the chance to learn from it.

Euthanasia

Everyone has their opinion on Euthanasia. Honestly, I am a supporter for Euthanasia, but then again I am not. Euthanasia is a good thing in a way, but in other ways it's not. Why do I support Euthanasia?
Euthanasia is a way for a person thats ill to pick their own death date. Some people who are ill rather die peacefully than go through all of the pain from the cancer or illness. Most people would like to option to die the way they want to other dying from an illness. In my opinion, I agree that they should have the right to pick their death dates. Is it called suicide?
Euthanasia and Suicides is two completely different things. Suicide is when a person who is sad and depressed with life. Suicide is an easy way out, in my opinion. Euthanasia if for someone who is termanilly ill the chance to die in a peaceful right. Sometimes it better to just die, than go through what the cancer can do to someone. I believe in Euthanasia over Suicide any day.
Why don't I support Euthanasia? It would be hard to pick my own death date, if I had a severe cancer or illness.  I do believe in fighting to survive then going in the easy way out. At a point where you don't feel like you can fight anymore, maybe the would be the chance for Euthanasia. If I did pick my death date, it would impact my family's lives. I would hate to leave my family on this earth because it was my decision to.
In a way, Euthanasia is good option. In other ways, it is not. Its hard to believe that someone could pick Euthanasia. If I was in severe pain and I was told that its better to die now, I don't know what I would do. Would I try to fight or would I not? I don't know if I would have the guts to survive or to end my own life.

I believe that everyone should have the right to choose when they get to die. Why couldn't they? In all honestly, if they want to die they will do it no matter what. If someone does want to die, it doesn't mean they are suicide. Suicide is where a person is usually depressed with life and believes there is no way out. With euthanasia, it gives people who are sick the chance to die without the pain. Honestly, if I was her I would do the same thing. I couldn't imagine that pain that would take place.  I couldn't stand having my family members seeing me in a manner like that. I wouldn't pick my " death date, two days after my husband's birthday though. In other ways, you never know when they will find a cure for the cancer a person may have.

With all of the chaos, the town is expecting atleast 30 aftershocks to occur. There is a chance that an aftershock of the magnitude of a 5 can happen.

Many people suspect the reason for the earthquake is because of the West Napa Fault. This fault happnes to be apart of a large fault zone smashed between two larger faults. The tectonic tensions between each plate caused to earth quake to occur. The fault makes more than just one slash again the Earth's surface. Even though the fault is none to be active, many people don't expect that it is a major fault in the Bay area.

Assignment 8,22,14

The United States faces many problems each year. Today, I believe the three biggest problems facing the United States would be: unemployment, poverty, and climate change. Each of these problems are increasing every year. What can the government and even the citizens do to fix these issues? How did the issues appear? Often these questions are asked by not only citizens living in the United States, but even our government as well.
The major issue that United States faces is unemployment. Why is this the case? Unemployment has been on the rise since the 1900's. More and More companies are looking to outside of the country businesses because it cuts the cost of labor. " Only 63 percent of working age Americans have jobs or are looking for one." The percentage hasn't been that low since 1978. Many people who are unemployed quit looking for jobs after some time. The biggest reason why unemployment rates are so high is because of our economy being weak. How can we fix unemployment issues? We need to get rid of the low wage jobs and create higher paid jobs. We need to get everyone to be able to get a job if they want to work. If the government can raise a two to three percent increase on  our economy that can create multiple job openings for unemployment.
Did you know that the average poverty level is around $22,000 per a family of four? If you were to calculate that, that means 15 million children live in poverty. For a family to cover just the basic expenses, they would need to make at least $45,000 per year. Many children do not receive government assistance because their parents make more than $22,000 per year. Children that live in poverty usually have a social and learning issues. With families that live in poverty, the chance of hunger increases. So how can the United States government fix the poverty issues? A couple ways to decrease poverty is to force families to only have a certain number of children. Smaller families do make more money per year than larger ones.
The last major issue I believe that the United States is face is the climate change. In the northeast part of the country, climate change varies from state to state. During hot summer days, the chance of air pollution increases. The air pollution can give many health risks to the young, the elderly, and to the workers who work outside. The northeast states have dozens of ski resorts, tests show by the end of the century some will be gone due to the warmer climate due to global warming. How can the government fix the climate issues? They can make more laws to help reduce how much carbon dioxide is released in the air from factories. They can also go green by recycling.
Every country has their own problems. Each issue stated above can be fixed and maybe some day they will be fixed. If these issues do get fixed, the United States will be a better country. If they focus on an issue at a time, they will have better chances of solving the problem.
